Jakarta Distance Learning Center (DLC) is a part of Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) in Indonesia. Recently the DLC became a gateway of GDLN network in Indonesia to international connection. Jakarta DLC is located within Universitas Indonesia and is under the coordination of Center for Learning Resources (CLR). It was established in 2002 and was fully certified as a GDLN DLC in January 2007. The DLC is equipped with GDLN standard video conference facilities, 40 PCs with broadband internet connection and up to 60 seats capacity. As a unit within Universitas Indonesia, it has some advantages, especially access to various experts of 13 faculties and graduate school.

As a Production House

Jakarta DLC has a role as a production house to develop and to facilitate ICT based learning materials. As a unit within Universitas Indonesia, it is supported by various experts of many disciplines and many learning resources such as libraries. This advantage gives an opportunity to Jakarta DLC as excellence in content development.

As a Promotion House

As a part of GDLN, Jakarta DLC facilitates and supports any learning activities/programs that are offered by other GDLN DLCs. This role has brought Jakarta DLC to become a potential partner to Government Institutions, NGOs, International agencies and business/industrial sectors in knowledge dissemination.
